50 Years of Market Experience

Michael Duane Archer
A Lifetime in the Markets

Fifty years of trading, research, and refinement—focused on one thing: learning to see what the market is actually doing.

I made my first trade in commodities in September of 1973. That summer, I began studying the markets with Charles B. Goodman.

We were tracking a Double Intersection in Silver when a Molokai setup formed. When the signal came, Charlie leaned over:

“Let’s go, dad.”

I bought two contracts at $2.78. We scaled, re-entered, and rode the structure to nearly $6. That trade didn’t just make money—it defined everything that followed.

Plans for a Ph.D. in Philosophy ended there.

I studied with Goodman until 1984, speaking daily—even across continents—refining structure and understanding.

Back in Colorado, I built a managed account business producing 48% annual returns with low risk parameters.

In the early 1990s, I stepped away and traveled across Canada with my family.

Later, I built software companies before returning to trading through FOREX.

I authored multiple books with John Wiley & Sons and lectured on AI and markets internationally.

From 2002 onward, I mentored traders and ran the Goodman Trading Room (2006–2014).

The Goodman Codex captures the full body of that work. The Playbook distills it—one setup, executed correctly.

“If you walk around the block enough times, you will eventually see in everyone’s window.”

The market does not reward intelligence.
It rewards clarity.
It rewards patience.
It rewards the ability to see what is actually there.

Mentorship and consulting are offered for a limited time. The work will continue—but will transition to my student, Mohamed Ahmed.

Good Trading,
